Meet Dr. Demarest Crawl
Dr. Demarest Crawl is a dynamic professional with a passion for ethical real estate development, social work, and community transformation.
Her mission is to revitalize urban neighborhoods while ensuring long-term affordability and sustainability for residents. She brings a unique combination of expertise in mental health, communication, and housing development to every project she undertakes.
Real Estate & Community Development
As a graduate of the DevelopHER Baltimore Real Estate Development Training Program (cohort 1 - 2024) and winner of its Pitch Competition, Demarest has emerged as a leader in transformative property development. She successfully renovated a 5-bedroom, 2-bathroom property into a 6-bedroom, 6-bathroom home and is now working with Buy Into Baltimore to convert a 5-bedroom, 2-bath home into two 2-bedroom, 1.5-bath units for unhoused veterans. A proud member of Women of Color in Community Development, she remains dedicated to investment strategies that prioritize community well-being.

Demarest earned her Doctor of Social Work (DSW) at Simmons University, where her research focused on community-driven real estate development and equitable affordable housing solutions for urban areas affected by historical redlining. Her academic background spans multiple disciplines, equipping her with the tools to blend financial, social, and technological strategies to create lasting impact:

(LICSW) bringing trauma-informed expertise to both her mental health practice and housing initiatives.
